Hairdressing& Beauty
Both hairdressing and beauty technician positions
are widely available in the UK, particularly for those
with qualifications and/or experience.
The Hairdressing & Beauty Industry Authority
(the national training body for hairdressers)
has an interesting website at www.habia.org.
Alternatively, you might want to visit the Freelance
Hair & Beauty Federation's site at www.fhbf.org.uk
for information and useful links.
Holiday Camps & Tourist Attractions
If you thought Hi De Hi was a quaint blast
from the past, think again. Every year thousands
of Brits descend on a range of holiday camps for
their annual break away. These camps need a strong
complement of cooks, cleaners, maintenance staff,
administration staff, entertainers, and (of course)
camp leaders.
Theme parks, various tourist attractions, and seaside
towns like Brighton and Blackpool are
always interested in casual labour over the busy summer
months. Contact the organisations directly and check
out the usual travellers magazines and newspapers.
Hospitality
Hotel workers including cleaners, chambermaids, office
staff, receptionists, waiters, and porters are always
in demand. Refer to Catering/Hospitality
for agencies to contact, but you could also contact
hotels directly. Chains include Forte, Best
Western, and Ibis.
