Agriculture/Horticulture/Farming
The land-based industries in the UK are a shadow
of their former selves, but there is still plenty
of manual work to be had, particularly fruit and vegetable
picking in season. Accommodation is often provided
by farmers or growers, but check first. Remember too
that the hours will typically be long and physical
- be prepared! Farmers will generally prefer applicants
with experience or qualifications. Typical farming
jobs available are tractor drivers, fencers, and shepherds.
