Other Ways of Entering the UK
If you are unable to gain entry clearance
via a working holidaymaker visa or by right of UK
ancestry, it may be worth your while trying to obtain
entry through one of the following alternative
methods:
Work Permit
You may be able to gain sponsorship from an
employer in the UK for a specific employment position.
Sponsorship is actually becoming more common, as UK
employers seek to make up for a shortfall in skills
in certain trades and professions. This current largesse
may end if UK economic growth continues to decline.
Note that the employer must apply for the
work permit, not the employee.
Contact one of the recruitment agencies specific
to your type of occupation for more information and
to discuss the possibility of UK entry through this
method. For occupation links, visit our Working
section.
Student Entry
You may qualify to come to the UK to study provided
you can show that you have been accepted for a course
of study. There are guidelines as to the type of institution
you must be enrolled at.
For more information about coming to the UK as a
student, refer to the Home Office website at www.homeoffice.gov.uk,
www.younee.com,
or www.gouk.com.
