Guide Books
Guide books are incredibly useful in helping
even long-term visitors to the UK get the most from
their time in the country. So many travellers don't
realize what they missed out on until they have left
because they weren't informed about the huge variety
of experiences and destinations the UK can offer -
don't make that mistake!
While there are a multitude of guidebooks on the
market, for us there are three that stand out from
the pack:
- 'The Rough Guide to Britain' is an unashamedly
opinionated but incisive wrap-up of England, Wales,
and Scotland. At over 1,000 pages it won't slip
in your back pocket, but it is well worth carrying
for its detail and coverage of almost all possible
UK destinations. The Rough Guide to Britain gets
our top billing, and can be bought through amazon.com
Recent version due for release on 3 July 2006 from
amazon.com
- The Eyewitness Travel Guides have
grown in popularity in recent years, and is one
of the best. With hundreds of full-colour photos,
diagrams, maps, and listings, this guide book is
the most visually impressive on the market and a
must for visitors to London. Consistently given
5 star reviews, can be bought from amazon.com

-
The Lonely Planet Guide to Britain
is now in its 13th edition, but remains a fresh
and informative guide for tourists and residents
alike. Can be bought from amazon.com
