London On Foot
London is an excellent city to explore on foot.
Although London covers a huge geographical area, many
of London's key historical areas, parks, shopping
streets, and attractions are fairly close to each
other.
Throughout the city and it's outer reaches there are
a wide and varied range of walks to interest
everyone. London's tourist board and various historical
bodies have devised a number of walking routes, providing
information guides or even the real thing to help
you get the most from the walk.
However, London can be explored easily enough under
your own steam, preferably with a good guide
book to give you a helping hand and to explain
the history and attractions of the area. You're A
to Z Map will also be invaluable.
A number of companies offer themed guided walks -
such as a walk around Shakespearean London, pub walks,
ghost walks etc - and these can be excellent entertainment
as well as giving you a feel for the 'real' London.
