Hampton Court - Background
With it's riverside location, extensive gardens
(including a maze), and impressive architectural features,
Hampton ourt has drawn a steady stream of admirers
since its gates were thrown open to the public in
the 19th century.
Hampton Court Palace was started in 1514 as the
private residence of the then Archbishop of York.
Gifted to the Royal Family, Hampton Court has been
extensively renovated twice since it's construction,
the second time by Sir Christopher Wren (architect
of St. Paul's Cathedral) in the late 17th century.

Getting There
East Molesey, Surrey. 25kms southwest of central
London.
Hampton Court BR or from Wimbledon or Vauxhall tubes
and then linking to the overland train, and by boat
from London along the Thames to Hampton Court Pier.

There are joint Tower of London/Hampton Court tickets
that offer better value than individual tickets at
each attraction.
