Music Festivals Kick Off
Britain's popular music festival season kicks
off in May, with major gatherings planned through
to the end of August. Now's the time to get tickets,
so don't miss out on seeing the big names...
Homelands - 1-2 June
If something slightly more mellow is what you're
after, Homelands dance festival is for you.
A popular festival (50,000 are expected). At The Bowl,
Matterley Estate, Winchester, Hampshire. Check out

Fierce Festival - 2 June
The best of 'Down Under', including Midnight Oil
and Regurgitator. Brockwell Park, London. Visit Fierce

Isle of Wight - 3-16 June
The granddaddy of them all is back, this time with
Ash and the Charlatans headlining. See the Isle

Fleadh - June
Finsbury Park's annual Celtic music festival features

Glastonbury - 28-30 June
The famously muddy west country festival, perhaps

Flavours of New Zealand - 29 June
OK, not a music festival as such, but who could turn
down the chance to see Kiwi legend Dave Dobbyn while
enjoying great food and wine from New Zealand? Book

This 'urban music event' in Manchester features

V2002 - 17-18 August
The big rock festivals kick off in August, and this
is one of the biggest. V2002 features Chemical
Brothers, Stereophonics, Travis, Primal Scream, Nickleback,
and Starsailor. As usual, there is plenty more
going on. Venues: Weston Park, Weston-under-Lizard,
