Stopovers
The stopover options for travellers to the UK are
really only limited by your imagination and your financial
resources. While the bulk of UK-bound visitors
still choose to fly direct or stop briefly at 'trunk
route' cities such as Singapore,
Bangkok,
and Los
Angeles, more and more are enjoying the wide
range of experiences and destinations that can be
enjoyed on the way.
Heading from Australia or New Zealand via Asia you
have a myriad of options, including India,
trekking in Nepal,
Japan,
or China
(including Hong
Kong).
Heading east, the South American countries of Argentina
and Peru
are increasingly popular. Canada
has plenty of different options for the traveller,
and cheap deals to New
York are also available. Island stops could
include Hawaii,
the French protectorate of Tahiti,
the Caribbean island of the Bahamas,
or - for the more daring - Castro's Cuba.
