London Hotels
London hotels range from the luxurious five star
names synonomous with style such as the Savoy
and the Ritz to the run down no star flea
pits. In between are literally hundreds of thousands
of rooms available for the visitor to London.
London hotels are not renowned for their value for
money, and there are few that combine high quality,
a central location, and affordability. Shop around
and make sure you check out the room if at all possible
before you commit.
What Part of Town?
Chances are budget is a key factor in your accommodation
choice, so for a more affordable place to rest your
head, try the West London suburbs of Ealing,
Harrow, or (nearer the centre) Earls Court.
All are well serviced by tube and bus links, with
the added advantage of being not too inconvenient
for Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Central London hotels tend to cluster around
particular streets, with Sussex Gardens in Paddington
being one particular example. Other large clusters
can be found in the Marble Arch and Bayswater areas.
If price is not a concern, the West End districts
of Mayfair, South Kensington and Belgravia offer some
large and opulent hotels. The Savoy, however, is right
in the heart of London. Situated on the Strand, the
Savoy is five minutes from Trafalgar and Leicester
Squares and only a few steps further to the Regent/Oxford
Street shopping axis.
